Interaction Patterns as Support for Cognitive Modeling

چکیده

Cognitive models represent the knowledge and information processes that are assumed to be required for task performance. Cognitive architectures are used as an integrative framework of psychological theories; they further allow the simulation of human behavior in finegrained steps. The promising potential of cognitive modeling as a method for evaluating dynamic humanmachine systems, especially in early stages of the design process, is well-known. Nevertheless, the use of this method in industrial and research departments is sporadic as a result of both high costs and a huge amount of time to build and verify models. Following from this, the development of high-level languages to model human cognition based on low-level cognitive architecture is a contemporary matter in the cognitive research community (see Ritter et al., 2006, for an overview of current high-level approaches). Simplifying the model-building process and improving concepts for sharing and reusing model components are the main objectives of the various high-level approaches.

Z-Cognitive Map: An Integrated Cognitive Maps and Z-Numbers Approach under Cognitive Information

Usually, in real-world engineering problems, there are different types of uncertainties about the studied variables, which can be due to the specific variables under investigation or interaction between them. Fuzzy cognitive maps, which addresses the cause-effect relation between variables, is one of the most common models for better understanding of the problems, especially when the quantitati...

Discourse Analysis Techniques for Modeling Group Interaction

This paper presents discourse analysis techniques that model the interaction of a small group of users engaged in same-place/differenttime interaction. We analyzed data from VesselWorld, our experimental testbed, and formulated a modeling technique based on the recurrence of coordination problems and the structure that users create to handle these problems. Subsequent experiments revealed that ...

A Scenario Analysis Through Fuzzy Cognitive Map Modeling for Sustainable Development Goals Survival In the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Case Study of Iran

To respond to the urgent call for preventive action against COVID-19 pandemic implications for societies, this research is carried out. The main aim of our research is providing a new insight for the effects of the newly emerged restrictions by COVID-19 on the SD Goals (SDGs). This research applied a qualitative approach for supporting the SDGs achievement post-COVID in Iran, as a developing co...

Determination of adaptive responses of peanut genotypes and patterns of genotype × location interaction using the CSM-CROPGRO-Peanut model

The adaptive responses of crop genotypes and patterns of genotype x location (G x L) interaction are important to crop improvement as they are the basis for selection for specific adaptation and for elucidation of the causes of G x L interaction. Their legitimate assessment, however, requires yield data for the test genotypes for a large number of sites and over multiple years. Such data are se...

Patterns and conflicts for the specification of cognitive models

Cognitive modeling is the creation of computer-based processes that mimic human problem-solving and task execution using existing cognitive theories. Cognitive modeling remains a labor-intensive and error prone activity with little theoretical and tool support. In this paper, we propose an approach to capturing specifications for cognitive models in an incremental and modular way. We use patter...

Emotion Detection in Persian Text; A Machine Learning Model

This study aimed to develop a computational model for recognition of emotion in Persian text as a supervised machine learning problem. We considered Pluthchik emotion model as supervised learning criteria and Support Vector Machine (SVM) as baseline classifier. We also used NRC lexicon and contextual features as training data and components of the model. One hundred selected texts including pol...
